Real Wedding - Jasmin and Ben

This great, unique wedding was sent in by White Pearl Photography. Jasmin and Ben are such a cool, young couple who really personalised their wedding with unusual details. She accessorised with leather, lace and pearls and he wore thongs (flip flops). Jasmin and Ben were married on the Gold Coast beside the gorgeous Currumbin Creek which was followed by a reception at The Rocks Resort. Josh did a great job of capturing the personality of the couple with the photography, there are some great shots, so enjoy!

Jasmin designed her beautiful gown. Love the shoes!
The bride carried a bouquet of Orchids (phalaenopsis) with twisted bramble vine and a base of monsteria leaves, whilst the bridesmaids carried their own miniature posy versions. I love the flat style of these bouquets with the little trails, very different!
A very windy day by the creek meant the aisle runner needed to be pinned down by boulders but also some great windswept hair in the photos.

A chocolate fountain creates a great focal point at the reception and a lot of fun for the guests.

Fragrant Freesia

In the language of flowers, Freesia means "innocence and trust". It's a beautiful simple flower with many florets on one stem and a gorgeous perfume. Available in Australia through late winter and spring (though hot house production has increased availability), they come in white, yellow, deep red, mauve, deep purple, pink and deep pink. Freesia work well with lisianthus and roses and can be used in arrangements, bouquets, buttonholes and corsages. A single short stem works especially well as napkin decorations.

Polka Dot Cookies and Huetopia Design Unite!

I have always been a huge fan of Polka Dot Cookies and Cakes. The designs are gorgeous and the quality is always exceptional. And the taste! The vanilla bean cookies are so scrumptious they leave you wanting more and more. So when I heard they were creating a range of bonbonniere with Huetopia Design I got a little excited. Well a lot excited. Huetopia specialise in the kind of wedding stationary that is so luxurious it's an event all in itself. The range hasn't been released as yet, however if you email Huetopia they will put you on the list to to be among the first to know when the range is finally unveiled. The range features Polka Dot cookies in tins and boxes with exquisite hand detailing such as embossed wax seals. Pictured above is a little taster of what's to come and below are some of my all time favourite cookie favours from Polka Dot Cookies and a few of my favourite designs and ideas from Huetopia's 2009 range.

Enchanted Garden

A stunning magical garden delight. The look is whimsical and ambient, filled with twinkling lights and glowing candles in luminaries and lanterns. Mix pastel colours with jewel tones finished with glittering accents and finishes. Touches like lustrous coloured glass with light shining through, ornate bird cages and natural luxurious fabrics like raw silk, complete the look.

Tantalising Tulips

The humble tulip is so often overlooked for weddings but its strong shape lends itself so well to bouquets and creates a "wow" factor display when grouped all together. The natural season for tulips is during late winter and spring, but they are available commercially all year round, making them an affordable option. Tulips come in so many different colours and types (like dutch, honeymoon and parrot). Their traditional flower meaning is "fame" or "declaration of love" for red tulips.

Eva Longoria's Stunning Wedding Flowers.

Jeff Leatham, my favourite inspiration for floral design, was the floral stylist for Eva Longoria's 2007 wedding.

I love the way he sits the flowers at an angle at the top of the vases, I've still not managed to figure out how he does it but when I do I'll post about it. It's such an unusual way of displaying flowers and really shows off long stems like those on lilies and roses.
The couple were married in a beautiful Paris church which followed a civil ceremony at a city hall. The wedding party then travelled outside of Paris to the Château de Vaux le Vicomte. Eva wore an Angel Sanchez gown.For more on Jeff Leatham visit his {website}

Real Wedding - Stephanie & Greg

Submitted by Jessie from J.Studios this wedding took my breath away with it's surreal beauty. Sometimes when you select the date for your wedding you've no idea what that day will hold. Black Saturday, a day when so many experienced such tragedy, was the day Stephanie and Greg were to be married.

A normal wedding has it's fair share of hiccups but that Greg and Stephanie managed to keep their smiles is a testament to their determination to be married. Not only did it rain ash at the ceremony, but they were told at one point they would be evacuated, temperatures were in the mid 40's and during their photos they were almost swept away by a mini rush of cyclonic winds. In a day of such sorrow, the love the couple share shone out like a rainbow in a thunderstorm. I'm so pleased to be able to share this wedding with you. Thank you Jessie from J.Studios for submitting such a touching story.
The couples intimate wedding was held at the picturesque Bulong Estate winery, in Yarra Valley, Victoria.

The wedding flowers originally planned were scorched earlier that week in the extreme heat, so a substitute had to be found. I think the "alternatives" are striking in their simplicity.

The reception tablescapes were also clean and minimal allowing the little touches to take centre stage. Little wire birds adorn the no fuss two tier cake and the table centrepieces are fresh "quiet" little vases of white lisianthus.
