Big Changes for 2013!
There have been some changes going on behind the scenes at
Imbue Weddings for some time now. A few
weeks back I introduced our new floral arm Cotton Blossom on Facebook.
Cotton Blossom is a floral studio which offers wild,
rambling style flowers. You won’t find
clustered bouquets or wired arrangements there.
Imagine lots of textures; foliages and berries mixed with the sweet
softness of roses.
This change has come about not only because of my love for this
style of floral design but also simply due to a need for a lifestyle change. Since having my daughter I have scaled back
on styling for weddings, only taking minimum bookings. But it wasn’t enough. There still were not enough hours in the day
and I felt like I wasn’t giving my clients what they deserved. So it was with some sadness that I eventually
came to the decision to stop styling altogether. For a while.
Maybe not forever but certainly for now.
Since the big change I have found that I am suddenly more inspired! I didn’t realise how much of a drain styling
was putting on my creativity. Well that
not really fair to say, it wasn’t a drain, it was more that I was putting all
my creativity into the weddings of my beautiful couples and there was none left
over for me at the end of the day.
Cotton Blossom has emerged as a great outlet for me. I have started offering calligraphy which
calms my soul in the most wonderful way.
And it’s something I can pick up and put down without losing a train of
thought on it which is essential when my little girl decides to wake up from
her nap an hour early. From this
revelation I decided I would simplify what Cotton Blossom offers with flowers
as well. Unlike with Imbue Weddings, we will only be doing the one style of flowers... wild, rambling, natural. Brides can just let us know what colours they want and we will create according to our style and design with what is available to us seasonally. And for the first time I will be
offering daily flowers. The joy! I cannot tell you how wonderful it is to have
flowers go out to some lucky person and know that they will enjoy them for days
to come.... not just that one single perfect day that is a wedding. I will still be doing wedding flowers of
course, nothing can stop me doing that; but I always find it very sad for the
flowers when they only have one day to shine!
Such a kook I know!
Whilst the website is not up and running as yet, you can
find Cotton Blossom here:
So what is happening to Imbue Weddings? There will be not styling or floral bookings taken through
Imbue Weddings anymore BUT....
I am happy to announce that Imbue Weddings will be doing
classes and workshops for styling and planning!
More info to come on this very soon so stay tuned!!!

Real Wedding - Tara + Tom
Tara asked for a white bouquet with lots of grasses and textural elements whilst still looking pretty. Her colour scheme had a beautiful hint of blue alongside the neutrals and white so we added some white hydrangea to her bouquet with just the tiniest hint of blue haze in it's petals. The bridesmaids also had individual heads of blue delphinium through them.
For the reception we filled lots of tiny tin pails with fluffly babies breath.

Real Wedding - Clare + Adam
Clare's flowers were fluffy, pretty and oh so feminine. The whole wedding made me think of an English tea party, it was just gorgeous. Styling by Love Bird Weddings and just beautiful photography by Shutter + Lace.
